Wanted Opportunity

Hi everybody!

Today, I´d like share with you my first self marketing campaign. It was on September of the last year when this horrible crisis pushed me to do something different.

I hadn´t worked in England and I was just looking for an opportunity in advertising. So I selected an advertising agency, Stuff, and I went to work on a campaign to grab their attention.

I played with the concept of a “Wanted” poster. ‘Opportunity’ was my little fish which I had lost. I designed and placed posters around the the agencies locality to ensure they saw them: on bridges, on traffic lights, on walls… The poster had the contact and reward details obscured. I just wanted to spark their curiosity, I mean, who looks for a missing fish? So I sneaked into their building and I left a poster in the lift and another one in the washroom.

After 4 or 5 days, I went to the agency with a very big present box containing a small tank with stones, flowers, chocolates, a RAC´s calendar with my picture and some fish food. Everything was customised with the names ‘Opportunity’ and ‘Hope’. The box was left the in fire exit with a explanatory letter and with my CV. The ‘Opportunity’ poster with the solution was also enclosed: which gave them my contact and the reward details. The reward was.. me prepared to work two weeks absolutely free. To ensure they discovered the box in the fire exit I left a clue ‘Opportunity’ (the fish) in a plastic bag in the washrooms where I knew they would see it with a post-it saying “The rest of the Stuff is in the fire exit”.

They rang me 1 hour later. We arranged an appointment and I went with my ‘Hope’ (another fish!) to my interview. It was a fun campaign and I was invited to do the 2 weeks work experience by Creative Director Richard Spruce where I worked on a variety of campaigns.

I really enjoyed my time with them, thank you very much guys!

Welcome to my Blog

I really believe that people´s attitude can change anything. That´s why I started my blog: because I want to stretch myself more. I want to learn about other designers and photographers and share things that I consider interesting with the whole world. In my blog, anything artistic has a place: cinema, music, dance, graphics, stories, paintings, pictures… Because Art has no frontiers. Everything is connected and everything is inspirational.

I am not here to be critical. I want to be positive about all creative work. We are here to grow professionally and personally together.

Everybody interested in graphic design, photography, advertising and new trends will enjoy reading and being surprised by how many amazing things people can do!
